Founded in 1890, Woodmen of the World began humbly in Omaha, Nebraska. Now it is the largest fraternal benefit society with an open membership in the United States. The company started with no office space, working out of the home of Secretary John T. Yates. Despite its growth the company is proud that it is still small enough to care about every member.
