American Continental

Who is American Continental?

American Continental Insurance Company was established in 2005 just outside Nashville, in Brentwood, Tennessee. Continental Life helped establish American Continental, offering experience in the health and life insurance industries, specifically in the senior market. A.M. Best Company, an insurance-rating and information agency, gave American Continental an A-Excellent rating in 2008.

In 2006, American Continental became part of the Genworth Financial Company. Genworth Financial has been operating for more than 140 years and provides an array of insurance policies for more than 15 million beneficiaries in 24 countries. In 2011, Genworth Financial was number 243 on the Fortune 500 list, with over $100 billion in assets.

What Services Does American Continental Provide?

As a provider of Medicare Supplement Plans, also known as Medigap, American Continental helps seniors find a plan that will cover the medical costs that Medicare will not. American Continental also offers other insurance products, such as whole life insurance, cancer insurance, and hospital indemnity. These products vary by state but are underwritten by Genworth Financial Company.

American Continental: Fighting for the Rights of Seniors

American Continental works hard to provide seniors with insurance that will guarantee them a comfortable lifestyle. While there is a budgetary crisis going on in America, American Continental fights to make sure seniors are still receiving the benefits they deserve. In July 2011, American Continental stood up to the government for seniors' rights by speaking to congress through the Coalition to Promote Choices for Seniors, emphasizing how important it was for the government not to cut coverage for any Medicare beneficiaries.
